National Museum of African American History and Culture

There is something different about experiencing history in person.

Our visit to the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC gave our Stars an opportunity to step outside of their everyday surroundings and explore generations of Black history, culture, creativity, struggle, achievement, and progress.

Walking through the museum gave them space to see stories they may have learned about in school in a completely different way. They could take their time, ask questions, make connections, and experience pieces of history for themselves.

Experiences like this are an important part of what United Family of Stars believes in. Exposure can change the way a young person sees the world and sometimes the way they see what is possible for themselves.
